Can I use laser to get rid of my fat?

We all have areas on our body with pockets of fat that won’t go away regardless of the amount of exercise and dieting. We would obviously love to preach the “you should love it” mantra, but we know how much it can affect your confidence, and how you look at yourself. There are other options than liposuction, which we will be exploring in this blog.

WHAT DIFFERENT TYPES OF LASER FAT REMOVAL ARE THERE?

Different types of lasers are used in a variety of ways to remove fat from the body. Some are completely non-invasive and others are a tiny bit invasive. These include:

  • Laser liposuction
  • Zerona
  • CoolSculpting

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE TO LIPOSUCTION?

Well, it depends on the type of laser surgery you go for. The laser lipo is an alternative to traditional liposuction. It uses laser energy to liquefy fat in a specific area. It’s less invasive than liposuction and requires only local anaesthesia. However some surgeons might have different views on its efficiency.
Zerona uses low-level laser therapy, which targets and liquefies fat cells that are eliminated by the body over a period of time. This is incredibly non-invasive and compared to other treatments comes with a lot of comfort. There are little to no side effects after this treatment and has become wildly popular in recent times.
CoolSculpting is different in the way of using a freezing technique of the fat cells. The controlled cooling is completely non-invasive and has basically no down time. These results are very noticeable, but again, are only really suitable for those who already have healthy lifestyle.
All in all, they all offer good alternatives to liposuction, with less pain and downtime.

WHO IS THE IDEAL CANDIDATE FOR LASER FAT REMOVAL?

The clients who will achieve the best results are the ones that are near their ideal bodyweight and seek this kind of treatment to get rid of stubborn pockets of fat. Importantly these procedures should not substitute a healthy lifestyle and diet.

WILL THE FAT RETURN?

Unfortunately the fat can return and that is why we recommend our clients to have healthy habits set in place.

We hope this blog gave you an insight into the options available to you for fat removal, so that you can decide which one is best suited for your lifestyle. Remember, there are other non-invasive, non-laser treatments too. See your practitioner to discuss the various treatments.
